Evelyn Jay Excellence in Education
This annual award is a tribute to Evelyn Jay, a beloved Tucson educator of over 50 years who touched the minds and lives of thousands of young readers. To celebrate Evelyn Jay’s dedication and passion for teaching reading skills to young learners, EEF and Bud Jay established the annual Evelyn Jay Excellence in Education Award in 2004.

This award is presented to Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) educators (teachers, reading specialists, librarians, etc.) who are passionate about teaching young students how to read.

We are seeking nominations for TUSD K-3 Educators (teachers, reading specialists, librarians, etc.) who:
· Demonstrate exceptional skills in developing K-3 reading
· Employ inspiring, innovative, & creative techniques
· Inspire students to become lifelong readers and learners
Nominations are due Friday, April 11th, 2024 by 11:59 pm.
